PANews January 17 News, 17 years ago today, on January 17, 2009, Satoshi Nakamoto released the first version of the Bitcoin client v0.1, namely: Bitcoin v0.1 Alpha, supporting anyone to run their own node from any computer. It is reported that the source code of Bitcoin 0.1.0 also included an Internet chat (IRC) client, aimed at creating a simpler message relay method. It also included a framework for creating virtual poker games, which was added to the Bitcoin version on April 16, 2008, and was completely removed after Bitcoin 0.8.2.
