“No Emotions!” TAO Veteran Says Bittensor Halving Hype Is the Last Chance for a Short-Term Pump

TAO-2,7%

A prominent TAO community member shared a blunt message ahead of Bittensor’s upcoming halving — and it’s far from the usual bullish narrative. With just 11 days left until the emission cut, he argues that the halving itself will not spark a rally. Instead, he claims the only thing that could trigger a short-lived price pump is a massive, coordinated wave of community-driven hype.

According to his post, the network effect of the halving is fundamentally a long-term force. In the short term, emissions dropping from 7,200 to 3,600 TAO won’t magically reverse a trend. The bear market is already in motion, liquidity is thin, and sentiment remains fragile. That means any short-term upside would need to come not from tokenomics, but from narrative — and a lot of it.

He stresses that only an “avalanche-like” hype cycle, big enough to force every crypto site and social platform to talk about the halving, can create a temporary surge in price. Otherwise, the event will pass quietly and TAO will continue drifting with the broader market.

This perspective arrives at a tough moment for the ecosystem. TAO got hit hard during the most recent crypto crash, falling below $270 and shedding another 11% last week alone. For long-term believers, especially those who entered at $350–$400, these drawdowns have been brutal. Many expected the halving to provide at least some price support, but so far, it has not acted as a floor.

The community member also warns about the psychological trap that often unfolds during events like this. If hype does kick in and the price spikes, most holders won’t take advantage. Instead, they’ll believe the pump will continue indefinitely, ignoring the warning signs and missing their exit. “Their greed-obsessed brains will win,” he writes, adding that he personally plans to sell into any halving-driven strength.

His message is simple: without hype, nothing happens. With hype, something might happen, but only briefly. And anyone expecting a sustained trend reversal from the halving alone is likely setting themselves up for disappointment.

Bittensor’s halving remains a major structural moment for the protocol. But in the short term, price action may depend less on emissions and more on whether the community can manufacture enough excitement to temporarily overpower the bear market gravity pulling TAO down.

Why did Bitcoin drop today? Trump extends Iran ceasefire period by 10 days, negotiations face disagreements.

U.S. President Trump extends the ceasefire period with Iran until April 6, but Iranian officials deny the request, leading to continued market pessimism about the prospects of negotiations. As the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield rises to 4.42%, the attractiveness of high-risk assets like Bitcoin diminishes, preventing a rebound and instead continuing to face selling pressure. The market is sensitive to liquidity conditions, and in the short term, attention should be paid to the direction of yields and spot demand.
