REX-Osprey's XRP and Dogecoin ETFs Smash Records in Market Debut

XRP3,87%
DOGE5,94%

ETH5,89%

The REX-Osprey XRP ETF (XRPR) and Dogecoin ETF (DOJE) have made a “shockingly solid” debut, signaling a strong appetite for altcoin-specific exchange-traded funds in the US market. The launch, which occurred on September 18, 2025, has already made a significant impact, with analysts noting the unprecedented trading volumes.

Key Highlights from the Launch

Record-Breaking Volume: The REX-Osprey XRP ETF (XRPR) recorded a staggering $24 million in trading volume within the first 90 minutes of its launch. This remarkable figure is five times greater than the first-day volume of any previous XRP futures products.Dogecoin Exceeds Expectations: The Dogecoin ETF (DOJE) also defied early market skepticism, reaching over $6 million in trading volume within its first hour. This performance shattered a forecast of $2.5 million and further highlights the burgeoning demand for a wide range of crypto ETFs.The “40-Act” Structure: Both the XRP and Dogecoin ETFs were launched under the Investment Company Act of 1940 (the “40-Act”), a different regulatory framework than the one used for spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs. This structure allows for a faster approval process but also comes with certain tradeoffs, such as tighter marketing restrictions. The funds hold the underlying tokens directly but can also be supplemented with other instruments like overseas spot ETFs.

📌 A Significant Step for Altcoins

The success of these ETFs indicates a clear shift in the market, showing that investor interest is expanding beyond just Bitcoin and Ethereum. As more altcoin ETF proposals await regulatory approval, the record-breaking debut of the REX-Osprey funds could pave the way for a new wave of crypto investment products, offering traditional investors regulated access to a broader range of digital assets.
