Binance Broccoli sets off fireworks! Surges 1000% overnight, Formula News Vida 2026 makes a million dollars on the first day

On the early morning of New Year’s Day 2026, BROCCOLI714 experienced a suspected hacker attack or abnormal market maker activity, resulting in a violent surge of over 10 times, with millions of dollars in volume. Vida, founder of Formula News, was alerted by the price surge warning and quickly identified the abnormality through order book observation. Decisively executing a precise strategy of “liquidating hedge positions, waiting for circuit breaker buy-ups, withdrawing orders at the top, and shorting to harvest gains,” he successfully earned a net profit of $1 million on the first day of the new year.

In the early morning of January 1, 2026, Asia time, a market maker account was suspected to have been hacked. The hacker allegedly used between $1 million and $20 million to drive the BROCCOLI714-USDT trading pair. Within minutes, Broccoli’s price surged from 0.014 to 0.16, a 1044% increase.

However, Binance stated that no signs of hacking were found, nor did they receive any reports from institutions or customers.

Vida of Formula News Uses Price Alerts and Order Book Monitoring

Vida, founder of Formula News, with keen market intuition and a comprehensive monitoring system, executed a “spot arbitrage + futures chasing + high-position reverse short” triple attack within just one hour, successfully earning a net profit of $1 million on the first day of the new year.

As early as early November 2025, Vida had deployed approximately $200,000 into BROCCOLI714 positions at a cost of $0.016, and also held a $500,000 Binance fee arbitrage position. Previously, he observed that these small coins’ market makers often pushed a large bullish candle before starting to unload. Therefore, he set up alerts for “price increase over 30% within 1800 seconds” and “significant price gap between spot and futures,” which this time woke him up from sleep.

Vida said: “My first reaction when I got to the computer was to close the fee arbitrage position, because the original hedge position of $500,000 had already surged to a value of $800,000 on the spot side. As long as I closed the hedge, a profit of $300,000 could be realized immediately. But I found it extremely abnormal—no legitimate market maker would ignore such crazy price gap and push the spot price so aggressively.”

By observing the order book, Vida discovered that a coin with a market cap of only $40 million had a buy wall of $26 million U. He deduced that it was either a hacker operation or a problem with the market maker’s algorithm. The intent was to push up the spot price to inflate the futures price, thus profiting from the futures market. As long as the buy orders remained, the price would keep rising. Vida attempted to go long but found that Binance had triggered a circuit breaker that only allowed reducing positions.

Vida immediately decided: “Wait for the circuit breaker to end, then aggressively chase the long.” He placed orders every 5-10 seconds and finally added $200,000 U in futures long at a cost of 0.046.

Vida Earns $1 Million on the First Day of the New Year

At 04:20 AM, the hacker temporarily canceled buy orders. Vida was alert to the possibility of Binance’s risk control intervention. To be cautious, he started selling all his positions at 04:20:52, regardless of cost. The original accumulated position and the subsequent long positions were liquidated for a total of $1.5 million.

However, one minute later, the hacker re-listed buy orders, causing the price to spike to 0.15. Although he missed the final profit margin, Vida remained calm. At 04:31, the hacker indeed canceled the orders. Vida opened a short position of $400,000 on Binance at an entry price of 0.065, eventually closing at 0.02.
