Ziel ist es, auf Kontenebene eine quantenresistente digitale Signaturlösung zu unterstützen, um den langfristigen Risiken durch die Entwicklung der Quantencomputing-Technologie entgegenzuwirken. Das Verfahren wird optional eingeführt, ohne bestehende Konten zu beeinträchtigen. Laut dem Antrag plant Aptos, das hashbasierte Signaturverfahren SLH-DSA zu unterstützen, das bereits als FIPS 205 standardisiert wurde. (Cointelegraph)
