Two different visions for blockchain sustainability are emerging. Solana Labs CEO Anatoly Yakovenko believes the network must constantly innovate and adapt to remain competitive—continuous evolution is non-negotiable for survival. Meanwhile, Ethereum's Vitalik Buterin envisions a different path: a system robust enough to run autonomously for decades without requiring developers to actively intervene. This philosophical divide highlights a key debate in the industry: should blockchains prioritize ongoing upgrades and improvements, or aim for eventual stability and self-sufficiency? Both approaches reflect competing priorities between agility and resilience.

Solana is busy messing around all day, while ETH just wants to take it easy? To be honest, both sides have their reasons, but neither is entirely right.

Solana keeps messing around, while Ethereum wants to lie flat. These two philosophies are vastly different. Vitalik's approach sounds sophisticated, but honestly, who believes it? Rapid iteration vs. one-time perfection — the classic dilemma of fish and bear's paw. If Solana keeps pushing hard, can it really beat Ethereum... If Ethereum could truly let go and still operate stably, that would be the pinnacle of technology. But I remain skeptical. Continuous evolution = perpetual bugs; stable and self-sufficient = forever outdated. This question has no clear answer. I understand Solana's approach, but it also carries great risks. If it breaks, who will save it?

Solana needs to keep competing to survive, ETH wants to take it easy? Haha, these two approaches are completely opposite.

That idea of "keep tinkering to survive" for Solana sounds exhausting... The kind of self-operating system that Vitalik wants is truly Web3, a one-and-done feeling.

If Solana can truly run stably, I would believe it. For now, it still relies on constantly applying patches.
