Commodity Futures Trading Commission(CFTC)即将离任的主席 Rostin Behnam 再次呼吁国会填补Cryptocurrency监管方面的空白。他说,即使不再担任主席,他也会继续倡导 CFTC 推进这一举措。 When asked about the situation in the new year by a reporter from The Wall Street Journal, Behnam said that cryptocurrency legislation takes time and mentioned the new composition of the presidential administration and Congress. He pointed out that legislation will take six to ten months, and federal agency rulemaking will take a year. He also said that the acting chairman will play a role in the future regulatory shift. In the presidential administration change, acting chairmen usually temporarily lead the agency until they are appointed as chairman or someone else becomes chairman. Behnam said, “I do believe that the acting chair will change the regulatory approach on day one, and the current commission members have been talking about sandboxes and creating an environment where Crypto Assets participants can basically operate without worrying about enforcement or regulation, because it’s a controlled environment.” In addition, legislative efforts by lawmakers, including Debbie Stabenow and Patrick McHenry, are not perfect, but still good measures. ‘I think the current situation, that is, the existing regulations we are currently under, cannot solve the problem.’ (The Block)
