In his farewell speech on December 10, Das emphasized his efforts over the past six years to leverage new technologies, including establishing the RBI Innovation Hub and the Financial Technology Innovation Regulatory Sandbox in Bengaluru.
When it comes to the progress of India in the development of CBDC, Das pointed out that many central banks around the world are still in the preliminary discussion and experimentation stage.
On the other hand, he said, “Among central banks around the world, the Reserve Bank of India is a pioneer” because it is still one of the few central banks to launch CBDC pilot projects.
