On November 7th, Polygon and Magic Labs, a startup supported by PayPal, announced on Thursday that they will launch a new Cross-Chain Interaction network called Newton. The platform aims to make the experience of using Decentralization applications (dapps) across multiple Blockchains seamless, just like browsing the Internet. By leveraging Polygon’s Decentralization AggLayer and Chain Development Kit (CDK), Newton will enable developers to build dapps that run on Cross-Chain Interaction, without the need to hold different Wallets. This move marks a step towards what Magic Labs calls ‘chain unification’, similar to the standardization of ACH or SWIFT in the TradFi system. If this technology standard becomes popular, it may help address the problem of ‘Blockchain islands’, which disperses Liquidity and complicates the user experience of encryption.
