On August 8th, according to Ukrainian public television citing Mexican media El Universal, Mexico’s newly elected President López Obrador invited Russian President Putin and Ukrainian President Zelensky to attend the Mexican presidential inauguration ceremony in October. The Ukrainian Embassy in Mexico confirmed receiving the invitation and expressed gratitude, but also pointed out that Mexico recognizes the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court. Therefore, if Putin appears in Mexico to attend the inauguration ceremony, the arrest warrant against him must be enforced.
