German Chancellor Scholz admits facing a crisis of confidence

On June 26th, local time, German Chancellor Scholz delivered a government statement in the Federal Parliament, acknowledging that Germany’s policies are facing a crisis of confidence. Scholz said that currently, numerous crises are happening simultaneously, impacting trust and security. It is necessary to address this issue as soon as possible, strengthen internal and external security, and rebuild confidence in Germany and Europe. Scholz revealed that security issues will be a ‘clear priority’ in the government’s budget proposal for the coming year, which the ruling coalition plans to submit in July.
