Jin10 reported on October 4th that on the local date of the 4th, a senior Israeli official stated that the Israeli political echelon has instructed the military to only take “defensive actions” in the Gaza Strip and to suspend operations to occupy northern Gaza City. The Israeli army radio stated that the order requires military actions to be reduced to the “lowest minimum,” with ground forces strictly conducting defensive exercises. This order was issued after overnight discussions between Israeli and American officials.
