Kerberus Cyber Security has just acquired Pocket Universe, a popular fraud prevention utility, in order to develop antivirus software specifically for cryptocurrency. The deal was made with Refract, the developer of Pocket Universe, valued at seven figures. Following the merger, Kerberus will integrate Pocket Universe into the Sentinel3 utility, expanding support to the entire EVM and Solana chains, while also developing the first “crypto antivirus.”

The two founders of Pocket Universe, Justin Phu and Nishan Samarasinghe, will step back to launch a new project but will continue to support the Kerberus team. Additionally, Ran Neuner, the founder of Crypto Banter, joins as a strategic advisor.

Founded in 2023, Kerberus (, formerly MintDefense), specializes in protecting Web3 users through real-time transaction scanning. The company expects that the upcoming antivirus product will address the malware problem, which is causing significant damage to the crypto community.
