  • Does Satoshi hold XRP?
  • Is David Schwartz the real Satoshi? A document that surfaced earlier today after two years shows a suggestion that the crypto wealth of the mysterious Bitcoin creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, may consist not solely of Bitcoin. There may be also a large portion of XRP in it.

Does Satoshi hold XRP?

A tweet published by an X user under the name @XrpHodL_ revealed screenshots of a stenograph of a court session on the SEC-Ripple case held in 2023. In it, an XRPL co-creator and currently Ripple CTO David Schwartz stated that he believes the Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto may held a large amount of XRP.

His statement came as a response to a court’s question about similarities between Bitcoin and XRP and if anything similar to Ripple’s payment system exists on the Bitcoin blockchain.

Schwartz gave a response that can hardly seem to be related to the question but curious for BTC enthusiasts – “Toshi, the original creator, probably held an enormous amount of XRP at that time.” The year which was mentioned next is 2017, which makes the answer even more vague and intriguing.

Is David Schwartz the real Satoshi?

The same user as above then published a screenshot of an X thread in the comments, where an X user Tiffany Hayden (@haydentiff) wondered that Schwartz said this about Satoshi and XRP and “nobody noticed” it.

She then stated: “I just wanted everyone to know that you’re definitely Satoshi.” The screenshot ends there and does not show what the Ripple CTO replied if he did at all. David Schwartz has been one of the main candidates for being the enigmatic Bitcoin creator, along with the Blockstream CEO Adam Back, Hal Finney, and a few others.

However, Schwartz (as well as Back) has many times denied the creation of Bitcoin. However, Schwartz admitted that he did work on the Bitcoin code in the early 2010s, adding modifications to it.
