The EU reiterates its warning on tariff countermeasures, and trade officials from the US and Europe are expected to meet on Wednesday.

According to ChainCatcher news, as reported by Jin10, a spokesperson for the EU stated that the EU has dispatched a technical team to Washington to engage in trade negotiations with the Trump administration. Previously, the EU warned that increasing steel tariffs to 50% could jeopardize negotiations between both parties and trigger retaliatory tariffs on American goods. The EU spokesperson reiterated that if negotiations do not achieve a balanced outcome, the EU will take countermeasures. EU Trade Commissioner Šefčovič is expected to meet with U.S. Trade Representative Tai in Paris on Wednesday.
