• Position-splitting mode improves operability, with hedged long/short positions and independent leverage: Under position-splitting mode, the same market can hold up to four positions at the same time, including cross-margin long, cross-margin short, isolated-margin long, and isolated-margin short, and it supports a mix of cross and isolated margin positions. In isolated margin, long and short positions can be set with different leverage levels, and leverage settings are independent between isolated and cross positions, which makes it easier to structure both directional exposure and hedges within the same instrument.
• Cost conventions follow the standard futures framework, enabling systematic execution: Macro Perpetuals adopt Gate’s futures fee schedule and standard fee formula (trading fee = position notional × maker/taker rate), and support Points-based fee offsets, making macro hedging easier to integrate into existing futures-account capital management and risk-control processes.

The report notes that scaling macro perpetuals depends on whether product coverage, mechanism design, and position management can jointly improve executability.
