SEC delays decision on BlackRock's Ethereum ETF
The SEC has delayed making a decision on BlackRock's Ethereum spot ETF proposal until March 3, according to newly released filings. "The committee finds it necessary to have more time to thoroughly review the proposal and related issues," reads Wednesday's filing.
The SEC now has until March 10 to approve, reject or proceed with additional proceedings for the ETF.
BlackRock filed for an Ethereum ETF called iShares Ethereum Trust in November. Fidelity's proposal for the Fidelity Ethereum Fund was also delayed, according to filings published last week.
Bloomberg Intelligence ETF analyst James Seyffart thinks that the delay on Ethereum ETF proposals is likely to continue in the coming months.
