When the hot topic shifts, I remind myself: attention is the most expensive stake. Once people start bickering in the group chat and a KOL posts a long image, my hands itch to chase it—but most of the time, it’s emotions that drag me along for the next round. Now, for the simple method: first check on-chain whether any “new money” is coming in, or whether it’s just old money trading back and forth; then wait a night—if it’s still hot the next day, we’ll talk. Plainly put, the same chance that can wake you up from sleep is often the same chance that can empty your wallet.
The whole debate over privacy coins and coin mixing—those boundary lines of compliance—is no different: on one side, it yells “freedom,” and on the other, it yells “regulatory iron fists.” The more loudly it gets, the more it looks like a traffic-driven game. My way of handling it is not to pick sides—just keep at a distance first: discussions are for discussion; don’t let your positions run after the chatter; if it can be used to record fluctuations in your emotions, that’s enough—don’t rush to conclusions. In any case, going slower won’t kill you; it’s impulsiveness that will.
