Out of more than 1,600 attendees who participated in the vote, approximately 53% chose Vance, with U.S. Secretary of State Rubeo coming in second with a 35% vote share. CPAC is an annual major gathering of Republican lawmakers, activists, and presidential contenders. This year's CPAC was held in Grapevine, Texas, with attendees mainly from the conservative wing of the Republican Party. The annual straw poll at the conference is not a reliable predictor of the final candidate. However, this vote reflects the current support trend among core supporters of Trump's "Make America Great Again (MAGA)" movement.
