Pi Network Starts Second Migration: Here’s What You Must Do to Be Eligible

The official Pi Network X account just dropped a major update. Second migrations have officially started rolling out, which allows Pioneers to bring additional Pi to Mainnet.

The news comes as Pi Coin price ticks up 2% today, though it’s still trading slightly below $0.20. The market is watching closely as more Pi becomes eligible for migration.

Pi Network announced that second migrations have begun and will continue with a gradual rollout. This opens the door for Pioneers to move more of their Pi to Mainnet and participate further in the ecosystem.

Importantly, first migrations for eligible Pioneers will continue as normal while second migrations roll out. So if you’re still waiting on your first migration, don’t panic. The process continues.

Here’s the part that matters. To be eligible for migrations, Pioneers need to set up Pi Wallet two-factor authentication through the Mainnet Checklist Step 3.

This may include adding a trusted email address to your account if you haven’t done so already.

Why the strict requirements? Pi Network explains that 2FA is enforced before migrations to enhance wallet security. Transfers on the blockchain are irreversible and immutable. Once your Pi moves, there’s no getting it back if something goes wrong. The extra security layer protects you.

Here’s something many Pioneers might miss. Second migrations will also include referral mining bonuses attributable to Referral Team members who fully passed KYC.

That means if people on your referral team completed KYC, their contribution to your mining rate will now be migrated as part of this second wave.

Pi Network’s message is clear: Pioneers should remind their Referral Teams to complete KYC so these bonuses can be migrated. If your referrals haven’t done KYC yet, now’s the time to nudge them.

What This Means for Pi Coin Price

Pi Coin sits slightly below $0.20 today, up 2% on the news. The second migration rollout is a positive step for the network. More Pi moving to Mainnet means more potential utility, more ecosystem participation, and eventually, more reasons for the price to find support.

But migrations alone won’t pump the price. That takes real demand and exchange access. Still, every step toward full Mainnet functionality brings Pi closer to its ultimate vision.
