For a market that is this dry, we've hit so many runners this year.
The best part is that the year is just starting out.
Been getting a lot of questions about how I spot my gems and so I thought it might be nice to share some tips.
First thing I pay attention to is where the builders are spending their time.
Narratives come and go, but builders tend to cluster around places where they foresee good opportunities.
If you keep noticing multiple serious teams/individuals building in the same ecosystem/meta, you should shift your attention there.
A simple example. The AI agent craze has been ongoing for a while now, and while there's a lot of hype, the reason I stayed and started looking for gems here is cause I kept seeing more and more solid builders launching around agent infrastructure especially on Base.
I knew that more builders would join so I started tracking early-stage projects, looking into who's behind them, and I was lucky enough to catch multiple runners.
Second thing (for me) is how applicable the tech is, which is usually why i go for infra projects more than AI agent tokens themselves.
Nobody is going to buy into a project that isn't useful to them or they don't see a future where the tech would go mainstream.
This part can get tricky cause you can very easily deceive yourself if there's a lot of hype around it. Just be honest enough with yourself before you buy in, and make sure your decisions are YOUR own.
Add a little bit of experience and quick checks to avoid scams and you're good to go.
I hope this helped. If it did, hit the follow button. There's more where that came from.
