You’ll need to provide your 13-digit South African ID number. SASSA will immediately send a secure link to the mobile number currently registered on your account via SMS.
Click that SMS link to access the secure verification page. You can then enter your new bank account details—making sure the account name exactly matches your ID. SASSA cannot deposit funds into joint accounts or accounts registered under someone else’s name. After you submit the new information, the bank verifies the account, which typically takes a few days to a couple of weeks. Your next payment will use the updated account.
