Today was a massive reality check. I was mid-trade in GOLD when volatility vanished.
I watched nearly 30 candles print in a perfect, dead-straight line. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it.
After some digging, I found the culprit: CME Group halted Metals and Natural Gas due to a technical issue around 11:45 PM IST.
There I was, stuck in a live trade while the exchange essentially "froze" in time.
The Lesson:Knowing the rules isn’t the same as following them. I’ve always known "watch the news," but I rarely prioritized it.
Technicals show you the road, but the news tells you what the sky looks like. You need both to survive this game.
