Galaxy launches a $100 million hedge fund, how are institutions positioning in crypto assets?

【Crypto World】Another major player in the cryptocurrency space is making a move. Mike Novogratz’s Galaxy Group has officially announced that in Q1 of this year, they will launch a $100 million hedge fund. The funds are already in place—coming from family offices, high-net-worth individuals, and major institutions.

Interestingly, the fund’s allocation logic: allocate up to 30% to cryptocurrencies, and what about the remaining 70%? Invest in financial services stocks that are deeply affected by digital asset technology and regulatory changes. Galaxy itself has also invested seed capital, demonstrating a firm commitment.

Fund manager Joe Armao revealed the core strategy—aiming to profit from disruptors in the financial services sector while also finding opportunities amid the differentiation of strong and weak companies. It sounds like a typical institutional approach: not all-in on crypto, but using multi-asset allocation to hedge risks.

A quick background: Galaxy currently manages $17 billion in digital assets, and this new fund is not too large within its overall portfolio. Currently, Bitcoin hovers around $90,000, and market volatility remains, so this hedge fund design seems to be preparing for market uncertainties.

A billion-dollar hedge fund, now the institutions are really here --- Multi-asset allocation sounds good, but the crypto world is still so competitive. Who can truly avoid a sharp decline? --- Galaxy's move is good, but launching in Q1 feels a bit late --- Can this kind of hedging method stabilize the situation? It still seems like betting on the final coin price --- Finally, a major institution is entering with real money, everyone understands what this means --- One hundred million dollars is not small, but hedge fund fees are so high that liquidity is still the priority --- Multi-asset allocation... honestly, it's still about fearing the risks in the crypto world, hard to understand --- This is how institutions play; retail investors can only follow the trend

Institutions are starting to step in. A $100 million appetite is not small, but I wonder if this wave can hit the right rhythm.

Ha, $100 million hedging? I bet five bucks that this fund manager is also someone who gained insight from being cut in half. Multi-asset allocation? Basically, it's just to prevent our contrarian indicators from triggering again. I've heard too many stories about risk hedging, but in the end, it still can't escape the fate of zeroing out. Institutions are finally starting to learn to prepare their "withdrawal cards" in advance. We really are the pioneers for latecomers.

Institutions are really starting to leave retail investors behind. A $100 million hedge fund is taking action, and we're still looking at candlestick charts. --- Multi-asset allocation sounds good, but honestly, it's still just the rhythm of bottom-fishing. --- Wait, financial services stocks are also included? Galaxy really wants to dominate the entire sector. --- Starting in Q1, catching this rebound early, already prepared in advance. --- Hedging, hedging, sounds stable, but in reality, it's just betting on volatility. --- Wow, $100 million. What would happen if this money is poured in? --- Multi-asset allocation is just a fancy phrase; the core still depends on whether they buy ETH or not. --- Here we go again, always talking about hedging risks, but in fact, these people are doing the opposite. --- Galaxy's move this time, do they already know some insider information?
