Former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison is expected to be officially released on January 21, 2026. The former exchange executive was sentenced to two years in prison for her involvement in the FTX collapse and faces a hefty $11 billion confiscation order.

Notably, her early release is about ten months earlier than originally planned. The reason behind this is not complicated—good behavior in prison became a key factor. It is understood that Ellison's conduct during her incarceration satisfied the prison authorities, giving her the opportunity for sentence reduction.

The collapse of FTX was one of the most shocking events in the cryptocurrency industry in 2022, and Alameda, as its affiliated trading company, played a central role in this storm. Now, as the case gradually concludes and related personnel are released one after another, this dark period is slowly becoming part of industry history. Learning from this, strengthening risk control and transparency construction remain important topics for the entire industry.

Wait, if you behave well in prison, you can get early release? That logic has some issues... What about the confiscation order of 11 billion?

Good behavior in prison can lead to early release. This logic isn't the same for ordinary people and big shots, right? Being released ten months early feels pretty quick... But what's the status of the $11 billion forfeiture order? That whole FTX situation was truly a nightmare for the crypto community. Does anyone still trust exchanges? Behaving well inside has become a reason for sentence reduction, which is a bit ironic. By the way, what can Caroline do after being released? She probably has no money left.

Ha, another ten months less in prison? His performance in jail is really top-notch. The prison guards are probably happy now, with the $11 billion confiscation order... That period at FTX truly wrote a shameful chapter in the industry, yet they can actually get sentence reductions. Should have been tougher on those big shots from the start, now look at what they've become. Learned the lesson? Or keep cutting? Anyway, they can still turn things around once out. It's ridiculous, just a few years in prison and it's over? Honestly, it's still about money and connections; ordinary people would have been ruined long ago. Transparency efforts? Wake up, this industry simply doesn't want transparency. Why does it feel like the crypto world is just repeating its own story? Why can't they just serve their full sentences honestly? One after another, they keep escaping.

Let me check this news. Caroline was released 10 months early? Good behavior? Haha, what bad behavior could she have shown in prison... Is it really that easy to live on so lightly?
