According to reports, Buterin believes that if DAOs are to improve existing corporate and political structures, they need to establish more complex and comprehensive systems.

Key points include:

  • DAOs should go beyond the simple token holder voting treasury model and need to address core infrastructure issues such as oracles, on-chain dispute resolution, and long-term project management

  • DAO design should support various application scenarios, including subjective dispute resolution like insurance claims, maintaining anti-fraud lists, and short-term funding support institutions

  • In projects involving oracle or governance system design, the workload ratio of DAO design to communication layer work should be increased to 50% of the overall effort

Buterin emphasizes that DAOs must establish a robust governance system to truly play their role in the Web3 ecosystem.
