The Arc Raiders development team recently clarified their design philosophy regarding game mechanics. When asked why they didn't include competitive PVP features like leaderboards, the developers' answer was straightforward: the core of this game is not about player versus player competition. This stance is quite interesting and reflects the different understandings among many blockchain game teams about game positioning. Not all blockchain games need to emphasize ranking competitions; some projects focus more on cooperative exploration or other gameplay dimensions. This choice by Arc Raiders indicates that the developers clearly defined their target audience and the soul of the game during the design phase, rather than blindly adding popular features.

Hey, I like this idea. It's indeed rare to see blockchain games that don't follow the trend of making leaderboards.

I quite like this logic; a blockchain game isn't necessarily defined by a leaderboard.
For those genuinely interested in cooperative gameplay, a leaderboard can actually be a burden.
Recently, this attitude of "we just won't add it" has been refreshing my understanding. It's much more comfortable than projects that try to stuff everything in.
This is what it truly means to understand what a game is, rather than a PM developing based on a competitor list.
The market for cooperative exploration actually lacks people; let's see if this team can really deliver.

Hey, that's not right. Without a PVP leaderboard, I feel clearer? Many blockchain games just pile on features randomly. Arc has finally figured it out this time.

Not doing PVP rankings is actually more refreshing; this is what true design understanding looks like.

Hey, wait a minute. Now even games are starting to go against the usual patterns? Cooperative blockchain games are actually quite lacking, and I’m on board with this idea.

Hey, I like this idea. Finally, there's a team that isn't being dictated by the leaderboard.

Cooperation > Competition, this is the blockchain game I want to play

Hey, that's not right. Without a PVP leaderboard, how to make quick money? This is the kind of blockchain game it should be.

Hey, wait a minute. Are collaboration-oriented blockchain games really this popular now? I thought everyone was trying to compete for the top of the leaderboard.
