Many projects recently have been focusing on "building wallets and exchanges" as their main narrative, making a big splash. But upon closer inspection of their communication features, they are quite disappointing. Back then, Elon Musk was not shy about bragging—aiming to create a crypto version of WeChat, and the vision was quite grand.

Think again about the Solana Blink project. When it debuted in 2024, the promotional words were very loud—"Bringing crypto to Twitter." And now? The hype has long faded, how many people still remember? This shows that having just concepts and marketing is far from enough. Ultimately, Web3 product competition still depends on real user experience and retention ability, not fireworks-like hot topics. The momentary buzz and actual product strength are often worlds apart.

Actually, the whole "messaging as a moat" thing is such a red herring. everyone's chasing WeChat vibes but completely ignoring the trust assumptions baked into their architectures... Solana Blink was basically vaporware wrapped in hype, ngl.

Exactly right, it's just a bunch of PPT projects that look impressive but are a complete mess to use. I remember the Blink thing, but no one talks about it anymore haha. No matter how perfectly you draw the big pie, it still has to be edible—that's the real truth. Creating products is really not that simple; anyone can boast. Retention is the key; once the hype is gone, everything becomes zero. Instead of hyping, it's better to focus on refining the experience, really.

Basically, it's just a cake-eating addiction. Who still uses Blink now?

To be honest, every Web3 project now is more boastful than the last. They have such terrible communication features but still dare to release them. Solana Blink has been dead for a long time, nobody uses it... This is the current state of Web3. Expert at making empty promises, but the product capability is extremely poor. The functionality and user experience are so bad that it's explosive, retention rates are pitifully low, and no amount of marketing can help. These projects are all about concepts, but usability scores zero. Honestly, they haven't figured out how to do it yet; they just raise money first and worry about the rest later.
