Why do people get married,

This is the best answer I have ever heard.

"Is marriage just about sharing meals together,

paying off the mortgage together,

having a child, and then working tirelessly for them?

It's not like that,

because humans are born lonely,

yet they long for lasting companionship.

It's about wanting, when returning home on a cold night,

a lamp left on just for you,

a warm embrace to welcome you;

when you're confused, having someone’s eyes looking at you,

full of trust and encouragement;

when you have a brilliant idea,

someone willing to help turn it into an interesting reality.

Marriage is about finding someone who can stand with you against mediocrity, discovering poetry in trivial daily life, being a travel companion on the journey of life, witnessing each other's growth and transformation, becoming each other's confidence and support.

Marriage is not just a bond of material and responsibility; fundamentally, it is to satisfy humans' deep need for emotional companionship, allowing two lonely souls to comfort each other and walk through life hand in hand.
