🔥 Year-end calendar has changed, be cautious with energy trading

U.S. federal agencies have temporarily adjusted holiday schedules, and this change directly impacts the data release rhythm. A three-day consecutive holiday from December 24-26 forced many key economic data releases to be rescheduled, prompting traders to quickly update their timetables.

Data release times have been postponed across the board:

· Crude oil inventory data: moved from Wednesday to December 29 at 23:30
· Natural gas data: moved from Thursday to December 30 at 01:00
· Unemployment benefit claims data, on the other hand, has been moved forward to December 24 at 21:30 (released just before the holiday)

Why is this particularly impactful? Delays in major commodity data like crude oil and natural gas directly extend the market’s data vacuum period. During holidays, liquidity is already weaker, and with schedules disrupted, the risk of increased volatility rises. Many energy traders may easily stumble due to the confusing timing, and market sentiment can become very tense.

Practical trading advice:
· Be sure to double-check your timetable before trading this week, especially for crude oil and natural gas data
· Since unemployment data is released early, don’t miss the window
· Be more cautious with position management during the holiday period; low liquidity can lead to slippage

The key point is this — sudden schedule changes during holidays completely alter the rhythm. Those who can adapt quickly are more likely to seize the initiative.

According to the changes in the data release schedule, this wave of timetable adjustments directly triggered the asymmetry risk in the liquidity structure—from the perspective of governance games, traders under information asymmetry are destined to fall into traps.

Coming back with the same trick? The holiday schedule changes cause fluctuations to spike, making it the easiest time to be liquidated. Remember these data points, or you'll face a margin call directly at the end of the year.

It's the same story again, year-end data is all over the place... I need to quickly adjust the orders I have.

ngl this calendar shuffle giving me flash memory of liquidity drains... when data voids hit, slippage tolerance becomes your best friend or worst enemy, no inbetween. seen too many traders get rekt by timing misalignment alone.
