The #Ethereum Foundation just made a major announcement, They are shifting priority from proving speed to security.
What is happening:
➡️ 128-bit provable security is now "Non-Negotiable" by end of 2026
➡️ All #zkEVM teams must use "soundcalc", An official EF tool to measure real security levels
➡️ Why? Recent research Broke some mathematical assumptions that STARK-based zkEVMs relied on
The Roadmap:
📍 February 2026 → Unified Security Assessment via Soundcalc
📍 May 2026 → Minimum 100-bit Security
📍 December 2026 → Full 128-bit security with smaller proofs
Why it Matters:
If someone can Forge a zkEVM proof, they can mint tokens from nothing and rewrite Layer 1 state. With hundreds of billions of dollars at stake, there is no room for weak security.
