The user initially sent a small test transaction worth $50, which was successful. Shortly afterward, a scammer created a nearly identical wallet address, starting and ending with the same characters, and embedded it into the victim's transaction record. When the investor copied the address from the record instead of their saved wallet, $49.9 million was sent to the scammer.
