Snoop Dogg has demonstrated the enduring appeal of celebrity-backed digital collectibles by exhausting an NFT series on Telegram within just 30 minutes on Wednesday. The collection, comprising approximately 996,000 non-fungible tokens, generated $12 million in revenue and proved skeptics wrong about the sector’s vitality.

A Massive Launch That Defies Market Pessimism

The digital gift series, built on the TON blockchain and reflecting Snoop’s recognizable aesthetic, featured vintage automobiles, merchandise items, animated digital canines, and cannabis-themed imagery alongside various other symbols. Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced the achievement via social media, noting that “blockchain minting and the secondary market will activate in 21 days.”

The rapper simultaneously unveiled a new track titled “Gifts” with accompanying visual content displaying the entire collection’s range. The online community’s response proved overwhelmingly positive, with numerous commentators on social channels describing the collaboration as “legendary” and viewing the rapid depletion as a bullish indicator for a sector struggling throughout 2025.

Market Context: NFTs Face Headwinds

The significance of this launch becomes clearer when examining broader market conditions. Data reveals that transaction volumes declined 61% during the opening quarter of 2025, dropping to $1.5 billion from $4.1 billion year-over-year. Over the preceding month, activity contracted 41% to just above $403 million, accompanied by a 55% reduction in transaction frequency.

Could This Mark a Turning Point?

Zenith, a TON blockchain specialist monitoring NFT development, proposed that Snoop Dogg’s achievement “could represent the beginning of a fresh NFT trend,” though cautioning that “the technical implications remain uncertain.” The analyst highlighted that Telegram’s gift mechanism offers “distinctive functionality—the capacity to display assets directly on user profiles,” suggesting potential appeal to mainstream brands and Web3 entities exploring similar launches.

Snoop’s Extended Digital Collectibles Journey

The artist brings substantial experience to this venture. In June 2023, Snoop Dogg introduced the Passport Series, an NFT offering that granted collectors access to exclusive behind-the-scenes material. Previously, in early 2022, he partnered with The Sandbox metaverse to release the Doggies collection, establishing a pattern of consistent involvement since non-fungible tokens achieved widespread recognition in 2021.
