Festive Gift-Giving Becomes a New Trend: Crypto Holders Spark a New Gift-Giving Wave

According to the latest survey insights jointly released by NCA and PayPal, interesting changes have emerged in gift choices this holiday season. The data reveals that nearly a quarter of American adults (24%) are considering giving crypto during the holiday season, reflecting a growing mainstream awareness of digital assets.

Among those who already hold crypto, the situation is even more pronounced. Over 60% (65%) of crypto holders indicate an intention to gift digital assets during the holiday season, and half of them expect to receive crypto as holiday gifts. This symmetrical data suggests that crypto is gradually becoming part of holiday gifting culture.

Shift in Consumer Perception

The survey also uncovered subtle shifts in consumer mindset. 17% of consumers this year are inclined to make crypto their top choice for holiday gifts, while 31% believe that crypto has stronger value retention compared to traditional gifts, making it less likely to be left unused. This reflects a reevaluation of the value of digital assets.

Practical Application Trends Rise

In terms of shopping applications, 23% of consumers say they might use crypto for transactions during the holiday season, and 19% plan to try paying with digital assets within the next year. Notably, among crypto holders, this proportion jumps to 62%, indicating that existing holders have a higher recognition of the practical use of crypto.
