USDT suddenly dropped to 6.95? That price is a bit outrageous.
There are a few explanations circulating in the market right now:
The first possibility is related to the recent policies about stablecoins. I’ve heard that OTC merchants are selling off at any cost to cash out, which does create a lot of pressure.
The second rumor is even more dramatic—a fairly large collateral platform is seeing capital outflows, and some people outside are reportedly buying at a 30% discount? If that’s true, the market panic is understandable.
Some are also suspicious that Tether itself is having issues. Although this kind of speculation pops up regularly, the price fluctuation this time is indeed unusual.
We’ll have to wait for more updates to know what’s really going on.

Here we go again. Every time, they say Tether is going to collapse, but it just rebounds. Is this for real this time?

technically speaking, if you actually analyze the mempool data during these usdt dumps, the transaction throughput tells a demonstrably different story than this panic narrative. the 3.5% deviation is sub-optimal market inefficiency, not systemic failure. most retail just doesn't understand base layer mechanics here.

Damn, 6.95—are they about to crash the market? This feels just like last time when we got rugged farming—better double-check my wallet address to make sure there’s no issue, don’t want to get caught up in this.

Here we go again. This time it really looks risky... OTC merchants are dumping so urgently, there must be something going on behind the scenes.

Listen to these prices... OTC merchants are really going crazy this time, dumping regardless of cost? That's something.
