The total amount of US national debt has exceeded 37 trillion dollars for the first time.

Recently, it was reported that on August 12 local time, due to the U.S. federal government continuing to accumulate debt at a record pace, the total amount of U.S. national debt has for the first time exceeded $37 trillion. The latest data released by the U.S. Treasury shows that as of that afternoon, the total U.S. national debt had reached $37,004,817,625,842. Maya MacGuineas, chair of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, stated that the U.S. fiscal situation is severely imbalanced, yet Congress continues to worsen the situation.
