PANews May 10 news, according to Cointelegraph, on-chain detective ZachXBT stated that law enforcement mistakenly detained former Yuga Labs security researcher Sam Curry due to a cyber theft case in 2022, which stole approximately $1.1 million worth of BAYC NFT. ZachXBT mentioned that he has identified the Wallet behind the eyewash and linked it to a now-deleted X account. In December 2022, an anonymous attacker stole 14 Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs, each trading for around $86,000 at the time. Law enforcement subsequently “misidentified the suspect by reviewing OpenSea’s logs, which included the home IP address of [Curry], and mistakenly listed him as a suspect.”
