PANews May 10 news, according to Cointelegraph reports, on-chain detective ZachXBT stated that law enforcement mistakenly detained former Yuga Labs security researcher Sam Curry due to a 2022 cyber theft case that stole approximately $1.1 million worth of BAYC NFT. ZachXBT claimed he has identified the Wallet behind the eyewash and linked it to a now-deleted X account.
In December 2022, an anonymous attacker stole 14 Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs, each with a trading price of approximately $86,000 at the time. Law enforcement subsequently “misread the logs of OpenSea, which contained the home IP address of [Curry], and incorrectly classified him as a suspect using this address.”
