Gate News update, April 9, according to a report by UK ITV News, Iran’s deputy foreign minister said that the Strait of Hormuz remains open to all civilian vessels, and that previous reports about the strait being closed are untrue. Because the area has war remnants mines, all ships need to contact Iran’s authorities to obtain guidance on safe passage. At present, all vessels that have completed communication with Iranian authorities have been granted clearance to pass.
