CME Group March crypto futures average daily trading volume rose 19%, reaching a notional value of $7.98 billion

Gate News reports that on April 2, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Group (CME Group, the world’s leading derivatives exchange) announced its March cryptocurrency futures contract data. The data shows that in March, the average daily trading volume for cryptocurrency futures reached 210,000 contracts, with a notional value of $7.98 billion, representing a 19% increase month-over-month. Among these, the average daily contract trading volume for micro Bitcoin futures grew by 6%, reaching 77,000 contracts; the average daily trading volume for Ethereum futures increased by 53%, reaching 19,000 contracts. Additionally, on the CME platform overall, the average daily trading volume for all contracts in March hit 41.10 million contracts, setting a new monthly high and up 33% year-over-year; in the first quarter, the average daily trading volume was 36.20 million contracts, marking a new quarterly high and a 22% increase year-over-year.
