Gate News reports that on March 29, Singapore uncovered a case of employee infighting resulting in the theft of cryptocurrency assets, involving nearly 8.83 million Singapore dollars. The defendant, Zhang Xinghua, conspired with two former colleagues—Singaporean Dai Yong and Singapore permanent resident Chen Chongxin—who, dissatisfied with their termination, illegally accessed their former employer’s cryptocurrency platform SafeX account, stealing a total of approximately 8.83 million Singapore dollars worth of cryptocurrency in three separate incidents, and laundered the money through multiple transfers and exchanges. SafeX is operated by DLT Ltd, registered in Seychelles. The three had held relevant technical and management positions and planned to set up their own operation and carry out the theft after leaving. Currently, Zhang Xinghua has admitted to two charges and has been sentenced to two years in prison; Dai Yong is involved in the case, while Chen Chongxin is still at large.
