Gate News reports that on March 26, according to Turkey’s NTV television, a Turkish oil tanker loaded with crude oil was attacked by a drone in the Black Sea near Istanbul. The attack occurred 15 miles from the Bosporus Strait and targeted the “Altura” (M/T Altura) oil tanker. Ship tracking data shows that the tanker was carrying approximately 1 million barrels of Ural crude oil shipped from Novorossiysk. The “Altura” has been sanctioned by the UK and the EU but has not yet been sanctioned by the United States. Turkey’s maritime news website HaberDenizde reported that an explosion occurred on the tanker’s bridge, and the engine room also took on water. No casualties have been reported at this time.
