FSB Annual Report: Dollar Stablecoins May Exacerbate Financial Risks in Emerging Markets

Gate News News, March 24 — The Financial Stability Board (FSB) released its annual report, warning that US dollar stablecoins could exacerbate financial risks in emerging markets. The report notes that the practical application of stablecoins and cryptocurrencies in the real economy, such as payments, remains very limited. The FSB calls on regulators worldwide to continue monitoring the interconnected risks between cryptocurrencies and core financial markets. Additionally, the FSB stated that in 2026, it will focus on digital innovation in the crypto space, monitoring vulnerabilities in stablecoin systems, and cross-border payments.
