Gate News: On March 19, People’s Bank of China Governor Pan Gongsheng met with visiting Hong Kong SAR Financial Secretary Paul Chan, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Christopher Hui, Hong Kong Monetary Authority Chief Executive Yu Weiwen, Securities and Futures Commission Chairman Huang Tianyu, and Chief Executive Officer Carrie Lam in the afternoon. The parties exchanged views on current macroeconomic conditions, deepening the connectivity between mainland China and Hong Kong financial markets, strengthening the development of Hong Kong’s offshore Renminbi market, consolidating and enhancing Hong Kong’s status as an international financial center, and continuously promoting high-level financial openness. Vice Governors of the People’s Bank of China, Xuanchang Neng, Lu Lei, and Zou Lan, attended the meeting.
