Gate News reports that on March 16, a fire broke out at an oil tank facility near Dubai International Airport (DXB). Preliminary investigations suggest it was caused by a drone attack. As a result, flights at Dubai International Airport have been temporarily suspended. Emirates Airlines announced a suspension of operations, and some flights originally scheduled for today have been canceled.
Today, several flights from China to Dubai were diverted to other airports. Flights EK363 from Guangzhou to Dubai, EK303 from Shanghai to Dubai, and EK329 from Shenzhen to Dubai have diverted to Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC). Flight EK307 from Beijing to Dubai diverted to Muscat. Previously, Chinese airlines’ flights to Dubai had been suspended until the end of the month. Currently, only Emirates Airlines flights are still operating.
