Today (April 23rd) afternoon, the Japanese House of Representatives voted to pass the bill related to the establishment of a “National Intelligence Agency.” The bill will be handed over to the Senate for a vote. On March 13th, the Japanese Cabinet approved a bill to establish the “National Intelligence Council” and the “National Intelligence Agency” responsible for specific affairs, with plans to establish the above-mentioned agencies as early as July this year. According to reports, the “National Intelligence Agency” will become the command center for Japan’s future intelligence collection and analysis activities, with a status comparable to the “National Security Secretariat” established in 2014 and directly subordinate to the “National Security Council,” and is called Japan’s version of the “Central Intelligence Agency.” ( CCTV International News )
