I just saw a very interesting news story about Elon Musk's fortune, which now exceeds $700 billion. The guy literally became the first person to surpass the $7 trillion mark in accumulated wealth. Just in 2025, he gained more than $3.3 trillion from all of this.
What stands out most is how this happened. SpaceX alone reached a valuation of $800 billion, and then Tesla reactivated stock incentive packages that had been suspended. Basically, two giant companies pushing his wealth upward at the same time.
But the most curious thing is to see the bigger context. Global billionaires overall gained $3.6 trillion in 2025, and the ten richest accumulated $729 billion of that. Six of these guys are from the American tech sector, which clearly shows U.S. dominance in innovation, especially in AI and tech.
It's like a reminder of how wealth is concentrated in just a few sectors and a few countries. Elon Musk's fortune in August 2025 was a very clear turning point of that.
