How to protect content generated by artificial intelligence? What should be done if chip layout design encounters infringement? On April 24th, at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office, Guo Wen, spokesperson for the National Intellectual Property Administration and Director of the Department of Intellectual Property Protection, stated that efforts will be made from three aspects: systems, services, and applications, to build a “protective net” for innovation in emerging fields. Guo Wen introduced that with systems in place, it is also necessary for innovative entities to be able to “use them.” The National Intellectual Property Administration has further optimized patent examination policies, providing multiple channels such as priority review and expedited review. As of now, a total of 890 items related to new industries and new business formats involving big data, artificial intelligence, and other fields have been publicly disclosed, effectively addressing practical issues such as the lack of corresponding projects for trademark registration in emerging fields and unclear protection boundaries. More notably, 82 national-level intellectual property protection centers have been established across the country, covering cutting-edge areas and key fields such as artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, quantum technology, and brain-computer interfaces, effectively meeting the needs of innovative entities for “fast protection.” (The Beijing News)
