Saiwei Electronics: Making the silicon photonics field an important strategic focus for its specialized contract manufacturing business
Sawei Electronics stated on April 23 that the MEMS-OCS manufactured for a certain client at the company’s Beijing factory entered the trial production stage in August 2025. During this period, multiple rounds of updates and iterations were carried out, but mass production has not yet been achieved. It should be noted that MEMS-OCS is a general term for a category of wafers, including different specific types and clients. The company considers the silicon photonics field, including MEMS-OCS, as an important strategic layout for its specialized foundry services. As of now, the MEMS-OCS wafers produced at the Beijing factory are mainly supplied to domestic clients. Due to confidentiality requirements under the agreement, the company is not able to disclose specific client information. (People’s Financial News)
