On April 24, U.S. President Trump stated on Thursday that he expects Putin will not attend the G20 summit scheduled for December at a resort in Doral, Florida, but he mentioned that Putin’s participation could be useful. Earlier on Thursday, The Washington Post reported that Russia would be invited to the ministerial meetings and the leaders’ summit. However, Trump indicated that he was unaware of these plans and expressed skepticism about whether Putin would actually attend. Trump said, ‘I don’t know about the invitations, but if he is invited, my opinion is that he should talk to everyone.’ He added, ‘If he comes, that could be very helpful.’
